POWER UP

image

Just finished installing the last of the planned batteries and inverter. Now up to 750 amp hours of power. This gives me about a week or two of power to run laptops and lights if there is no Sun anywhere. There’s still a shunt to install 4 the Trimetric and a different fuse but will roll like this for a bit.

YOU BIG LUG

image

So when I started this project in May wiring up the trailer I went a little nuts with buying aluminium lugs for the heavy wiring- I think the lugs came out to almost $70. The first thing I did was drill them all out to fit the bolts so I really couldn’t return any extras, the good thing is – after putting in the inverter and the last battery I only have a few left, let me know if you need a couple heavy gauge lugs…

A RIB LESS TRAVELED

I discovered yesterday that everything is closed on Xmas except gas stations and Chinese food.  That messed up my plans, I needed neither but needed BB ribs…so the ribs are now bought & in the smoker with care, soon to be in my face & the kitty’s chompers…They should go well with effervescent cold relief…& Bone Suckin brand sauce.IMG_20151226_161018508

RAINY XMAS IN MY KITCHEN

I went to sleep with the usual overhead vent (old style) open a little to vent the BUDDY heater and try to evacuate some moisture out of the trailer…well that was a big fail as i woke to a puddle of water throughout the galley because this F#ing rain was blowing sideways most of the night…and i thought today would be a good fresh start, go figure….and it’s still raining…

GREMLINS F@CK’N STUFF UP

Today seems to be the day for junk to not work right, the T CLASS fuse I bought does not fit the T CLASS fuse block and sent back to Amazon. The 135$ remote for the new INVERTER isn’t working right with a replacement ordered from Amazon, and the propane refill tank ain’t working right unless it’s upside down so my BUDDY heater is pumping out carbon monoxide instead of clean heat…the new PIPER security thing i got as a gift is only kindof working, and its raining still…but the battery bank is charged and happy about that so that’s over 1.5k of investment that’s still good…and my fish sticks were ok too…
Time for a movie- unless the lightning feels like it’s going to blow all of this up…will regroup tomorrow…
